Core Functionalities
Scan Optimization
During one session, BitDefender scans
and fingerprints every "read-only"
file only once. These files will not be
rescanned if accessed again during the
same session as their read- only property
will make it impossible for them to be
modified or infected during that session.
However, all files will be rescanned if
a new session begins, an update is performed
or if an infection is detected in the
system.
Multithread Scanning
The scanning process is shortened and
file access speed increases due to the
fact that multiple instances of the scanning
engines are used in order to simulate
the parallel execution of a program.
On-demand Scanner
This is a powerful tool especially designed
for administrators, so that they can schedule
on-demand antivirus scans or perform scan-now
actions for further file server safety.
Increased Usability
Scheduler
Administrators can schedule on-demand
antivirus scans and update tasks from
the product interface. They will be notified
through the Alerts module whenever such
on-demand scans or updates have been performed.
Logging and Statistics
The monitoring system and a special statistics
module provide reports on the product
activity. Customizable alerts can be sent
for several types of events: antivirus
signature updates, product updates, on-demand
