OVERVIEW

BitDefender Mail Protection for Small Business is a secure content inspection solution which provides antivirus and antispam protection at the gateway level, by scanning all the inbound and outbound e-mail traffic for known and unknown malware.

Dedicated software agents integrate BitDefender Mail Protection with Sendmail, Sendmail Milter, qmail, CommuniGate Pro, Courier or Postfix mail servers. A SMTP proxy agent ensures integration with other kinds of mail servers.

Antivirus
BitDefender Mail Protection ensures 100% detection rate for all viruses in circulation through its powerful scanning engines, certified by ICSA Labs, Virus Bulletin, CheckMark, CheckVir and TЬV. To address the fake sender behavior of new viruses and to minimize the network and storage load, infected e-mails can be dropped or rejected directly at the border.

Antispam
The BitDefender antispam technology is included by default in this version, offering 3 updateable antispam filters: an improved heuristic filter, a White List/Blacklist, and an URL filter. It features extremely fast filtering technology, scanning more than 100 emails/second in an average setup, while also keeping a low memory footprint.

Advanced Linux Installer Script Engine ( ALISE )
Bitdefender-smb-installer ( internally branded ALISE ) auto detects the system configuration, pulls any necessary packages from the network, detects installed mail servers and recommends the appropriate agent(s) to be used. The agent(s) chosen are then installed automatically. This automated install process ensures an average 60 seconds deployment time with 0 server downtime.

Improved Statistics
The Statistics module of BitDefender Mail Protection displays information about current and past activity in convenient rrd based graph or chart format.
